Park Place of Elmhurst, a CCRC Community offers a full range of services for families who need retirement living, assisted living, rehab, skilled nursing, and more. We are seeking a Full-Time Life Enrichment Assistant/Administrative Coordinator for our Independent Living Elmhurst facility.  


The primary purpose of your job position is to serve as the administrative event coordinator by supporting creative program planning at an Elmhurst retirement community.  Excellent skills in the area of Microsoft Office-- Excel, Word, PowerPoint as well as Publisher, Social Media (Facebook), Reach digital signage and experience at integrating new software technology. 

Summary of essential job functions


  • Preparation, draft edits, production and distribution of monthly calendar and weekly newsletter
  • Room Reservations
  • Bus/Car reservations
  • Bus driver schedule
  • Catering forms
  • AV and room set up forms
  • Maintain monthly outlook calendar with all activities
  • Reconciliation of credit card receipts
  • Check requests for entertainers, etc.
  • Birthday luncheon invitations
  • Record keeping for check requests, charge backs, invoices
  • Tech lead for presentations, PowerPoints, special audio needs
  • Purchase of outside tickets, i.e. theatre tickets
  • Make restaurant dining arrangements for groups of residents
  • Photograph events
  • Oversee Amazon and Netflix accounts, run errands related to events
  • Email all committee chairs requesting monthly updates for the Calendar and Weekly Notes
  • Monitor Activity numbers
  • Coordinate with the Concierge on room and bus reservations and RSVP
  • Maintain Monthly Movie lists
  • Assist with the Intergenerational Program
  • Assist with travel program

Word processing and clerical support for: Gallery openings, Contracted Trips, special program flyers, Great Courses materials, Park Place Neighbors articles, Holiday Market, Timothy Christian Intergenerational program , Oktoberfest, St. Patrick’s Day, Indoor Golf, Patriotic Celebration, Family Day, Holiday Housewalk, Spring Tea, Men’s Breakfast, Educational Series, Garden events etc.


Additional duties:

  • Drive Bus/Car
  • Order supplies/maintain supplies
  • Manage department storage area/inventory of same
  • Maintain department filing system: electronic and paper
  • Routine acknowledgment program for programs, speakers, outing destinations
  • Manage Facebook posts
  • Occasional weekend and holiday work (2-4 times per year)


Skills necessary

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Familiar with social platforms such as Facebook and Instagram
  • Possess ability to create, maintain and enhance resident relationships
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written
  • Very proficient in Microsoft Suite, Excel, Publisher.
