The primary purpose of your job position is to provide individual and group activities for clients primarily in Memory Care. Will have the opportunity to plan prgramming for Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing. Assist in the planning and implementation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs, as may be directed by the Life Enrichment Lead. Ensure that all charted activity documentation notes are informative and descriptive. Complete tasks and duties assigned by the Life Enrichment Lead. 

The position would be 40 hours per week, four daytime shifts (8:00am-4:30pm) and one late shift (11:00am-7:30pm). The position would require a minimum of working one weekend a month and rotating holidays. 

Summary of essential job functions

  • Looking for a friendly/enthusiastic person that has the skills to motivate and involve people. In addition, you must be dependable, caring and patient. 
  • Must be able to keep up with required paperwork/computer work as directed by the supervisor.
  • Must have good time management skills and be able to multitask; must have competency with computer skills including Word, Published and Outlook. Have the ability utilize internet resources.
  • Must possess good customer service skills and respond in a timely manner to the requests/needs of our clients.
  • Must be able to prepare activity room/areas for scheduled activity programs, and clean up area after completing activity functions.
  • Ability to work closely with and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team including nursing.
  • Assists with community trips as scheduled. 
  • Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must have a valid of Illinois Driver's License with a clean record. Willingness and ability to drive residents on outings in the facility vehicle. Will train as needed. 

Skills necessary

  • Experience engaging with residents with Dementia highly preferred.
  • General computer Computer Skills.
  • Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
