Village Woods Assisted Living & Independent Living is seeking a full-time Director of Nursing Services for our Assisted Living Department & Campus Care Services.  The primary purpose of the Director of Nursing Services is to direct the overall operations of the Assisted Living Department & Campus Care Services in accordance with the current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern our facility and as may be directed by the General Manager.  The Director of Nursing Services ensures that the highest degree of quality services are maintained at all times. 

Job duties and responsibilities include interview and evaluate residents for admission to our community; develop a written plan of care, review and revise service plans and complete assessments as necessary; assisting residents and their family members with questions/concerns related to the residents’ plan of care. 

The Director of Nursing Services responsibilities include but not limited to; maintain policies & procedures that will assist the departments in meeting the day-to-day needs of the resident; maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the departments, participate in facility surveys by authorized government agencies; assist residents and families in planning resident’s discharge;  perform training for all new hires; complete departmental education on a regular basis; complete staff performance evaluations; perform daily rounds of department; monitor that an adequate number of personnel are on duty at all times; review complaints and grievances.

Candidate must have a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.  A current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois.  Must have experience in program development and staff education.   At a minimum, 2 years previous experience as a supervisor/manager in a hospital, long-term care facility or other related health care facility is desired.   Must possess leadership and supervisory ability.   Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to assisted living.
