The primary purpose of your job position is to provide each of your assigned clients with services in accordance with the written instructions prepared by the Manager and/or Director/Agency Manager of Providence at Home in collaboration with client/family members. We are looking primarily for a 7 days on with 7 days off live in with potential for private duty hours during off week if intererested. 

Job Functions

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Accepts client assignments from Manager/designee in consideration of the program needs and as appropriate to experience
  2. Reports all changes in the client’s condition to the Manager /designee as soon as practical
  3. Reports all accidents and incidents observed
  4. Reports to duty on time and remains in attendance with client for the time and manner specified by Manager/designee
  5. Follows infection control/universal precaution practices in the home environment
  6. Performs all activities in compliance with established policy and procedures
  7. Provides services to assigned clients as indicated by the written instructions prepared by the Manager/designee in collaboration with client/family members
  8. Provides companionship to the client
  9. Respects confidentiality of all clients and program information
  10. Light housekeeping to include, but not limited to: dusting, polishing, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, changing linen, laundering clothes, and cleaning bathrooms
  11. Runs simple errands for client, documents any money spent, change received and returned to client, and gives client receipts and obtains their signature to verify transactions completed
  12. Performs to meet the client’s general and therapeutic dietary needs. These activities include, but are not limited to: feeding the client, encouraging fluids, recording dietary intake and output, meal preparation, and cleaning up after meals
  13. Assisting with activities of daily living in accordance with client’s plan of care to include, but not limited to: oral hygiene (i.e. brushing teeth/dentures, special mouth care, etc.), bath functions (i.e. bed bath, tub or shower bath, etc.), hair care (i.e. combing, brushing, shampooing, etc.), dressing/undressing, nail care (i.e. cleaning, filing the finger/toe nails – Does NOT cut nails), changes bed linen, makes bed occupied and unoccupied, skin care (i.e. non-medicated lotion), toileting (i.e. taking to the bathroom, offering bedpan/urinal, bedside commode, diapers, keeping client clean and dry, etc.), transfer techniques, positions, range on motion exercises, and ambulation (i.e. walker, cane crutches, etc.)
  14. Practices the knowledge of body mechanics to avoid injury to self or client

Working Conditions

  • Moves intermittently during working hours
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions
  • Is involved with clients, personnel, visitors, etc. Under all conditions and circumstances
  • Communicates with client, family members, department personnel, and visitors
  • Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary
  • Is subject to working during emergency conditions (i.e. server weather, evacuation, post disaster, etc.)

Education Requirements

  • Must possess, as a minimum, high school graduate or equivalent

Specific Requirements

  • Must be able to write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Must be able to push, pull move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum of 20 feet
