Description
The primary purpose of your job functions include planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall clinical operation of the Assisted Living and Independent Living community in accordance with current state and federal regulations, corporate policy and procedures, and facility standards.  Daily oversight of staffing, programs, and services, and the ability to support on - going process improvement are key to success in this role.  

 

Summary of essential job functions

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the clinical operations of the assisted living, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the facility. 
  • Assist the Assisted Living team on the development and review of policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the assisted living.
  • Attend regularly scheduled team meetings at the corporate office or as designated.
  • Provide leadership training that includes the administrative and supervisory principles essential for RCA charge position.
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Community Manager, as necessary/required, concerning the operation of the clinical program.
  • Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
  • Assist the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to areas for improvement.
  • Evaluate and implement recommendations from established committees as they may pertain to clinical program.
  • Determine the staffing needs of the clinical program necessary to meet the total needs of the residents.

  • Complete personnel performance evaluations according to expectations on a timely basis.
  • Make daily rounds of department to ensure that all assisted living personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable clinical standards.

  • Review complaints and grievances made or filed by department personnel and keep the Community Manager abreast of any issues.
  • Ensure that departmental disciplinary action is administered fairly and without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex, religion, handicap, or marital status.
  • Participate in the interviewing, assessment and selection of residents for admission to the facility; and Inform personnel of new admissions, their expected time of arrival, room assignment, and ensure that rooms are ready for new admissions. .
  • Review RCA/CNA notes to ensure that they are informative and descriptive of the service being provided, and that such care is provided in accordance with the resident’s wishes.
  • Monitor medication schedules to ensure that medications are being received and documented; and Medication Management Program to insure that resident’s needs are met.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet.

 

Skills necessary

  • Candidates must be a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois and have experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long term care, assisted living, or other related health care facility. 
  • Leadership experience in program development, staff education and development, and the willingness to work harmoniously with other team members are critical to this role.
